01 Introduction

CarSharePK (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates an online car-sharing and ride-matching platform in Pakistan that connects verified drivers with passengers travelling within a city or between cities. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use our website, mobile applications, and related services. Trust and safety are at the heart of our platform, and protecting your data is a core part of that promise.

02 Information we collect

We may collect: account details (name, phone number, email), profile information and profile photo, ride and booking history, pickup and drop-off locations, payment and wallet records, in-app messages and communications with support, ratings and feedback, device and technical data, approximate or precise location while using the app, and usage logs needed to operate and secure the service.

03 Driver verification & documents

To keep our community safe, every driver is verified before they can offer rides. From drivers we collect and verify: CNIC (national identity card) details and images, a valid driving licence, vehicle registration documents, vehicle details (make, model, year, colour, number plate and seat capacity), and profile and vehicle photos. These documents are used strictly to confirm identity, confirm vehicle ownership/eligibility, and maintain a secure, accountable network of drivers. We restrict internal access to verification documents to authorised staff only.

04 How we use information

We use your information to provide and improve the platform, match passengers with verified drivers, plan in-city and city-to-city routes, process payments and wallets where enabled, verify driver identity and vehicles, send service and security notices, comply with the law, detect fraud and abuse, and respond to support requests.

05 Sharing of information

To arrange a trip we share limited details between the matched driver and passenger (for example name, contact, vehicle details and trip information) so you can recognise each other and travel safely. We may use trusted service providers (hosting, SMS, maps, payments, analytics) under appropriate safeguards. We never sell your personal data. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of users and the public.

06 How we protect your data

We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls, and restricted handling of verification documents. While no method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure, we work continuously to safeguard your information and limit who can access it.

07 Data retention

We retain data for as long as needed to provide the service, meet legal and regulatory obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Verification documents are retained for the period required to maintain a trusted driver network and comply with applicable law.

08 Your choices & rights

Where applicable, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of certain personal data by contacting us. You can also manage notification preferences in the app. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request, and some data may be retained where the law requires it.

09 Deleting your account & data

You can delete your account at any time. In the app, open Settings and tap “Delete Account”. You can also request deletion from our public Account Deletion page on the web, without needing the app. When you request deletion we remove or anonymise your personal profile, photo, contacts and saved locations; certain records (such as completed trip, payment and dispute records, and driver verification documents) may be retained for a limited period where required by law, fraud prevention, or tax and accounting obligations.

10 Children’s privacy

Our platform is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have collected data from a minor without appropriate consent, we will delete it.
